Responsible Conduct of Research: Protecting Human Research Participants

In conducting your research, you may propose to use humans. These sessions will help you understand the requirements – both at the level of MSU and federal government – that you must fulfill to be able to use human subjects in your research, and how to fulfill these requirements practically. This session will highlight the means for protecting the subjects of research as well as the moral perspectives for accomplishing this. The historical context for current policies, practices, and regulatory requirements will be discussed as well as when and how to obtain institutional approval for the conduct of such research.
