SEM in STATA

This workshop is concerned with applications of the structural equation modeling (SEM) methodology using the increasingly popular software Stata (versions 12 and 13), and specifically its suite/module -sem-. Several general types of models are considered – general linear model, confirmatory factor analysis, scale construction and development related modeling, structural regression analysis, and longitudinal analysis (growth curve modeling). These are fitted using Stata, with a thorough discussion of the needed inputs and resulting outputs from multiple empirical data sets. The workshop is geared toward graduate students and faculty who have some familiarity with Stata and would like to extend it with knowledge and skills to fit various structural equation models with the same software. The workshop is also going to be useful to attendees not familiar with Stata, due to the fact that its SEM module -sem- is highly user-friendly.
