Quality Matters at MSU

This week Stephen Thomas, College of Natural Science, Scott Schopieray, College of Arts & Letters, Dave Goodrich, Information Technology Services, and Ryan Yang, Information Technology Services, will present "Quality Matters at MSU" at the brown bag seminar series.

In this panel session, the presenters will provide an overview of the Quality Matters program, along with a discussion of a pilot program that has been started at MSU. Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, peer review process based on best practices to help assess the quality of online and blended courses.  MSU has recently purchased a campus subscription to the QM rubric and online resources in order to assist faculty and instructors in creating quality courses that will improve  student learning. The presenters will discuss the pilot QM program between the Center for Integrative Studies in General Science, College of Arts & Letters, and IT Services.

The session will be of particular interest to all faculty who are teaching blended and online courses. Faculty who are teaching face-to-face courses or are anticipating teaching blended or online courses will find this beneficial as they learn about factors that should be incorporated into their course design.
