Strategies for Implementing Inclusive Teaching and Research Practices in STEM

Discussion: Successful STEM faculty of the future must find ways to engage and improve the experiences of first generation, low-income and/or minority students who are increasingly enrolling in institutions of higher education. This session examines the strategies the David T. Kearns Center and various academic STEM departments at the University of Rochester have used to address these challenges. Examples include holistic workshops for introductory science lecture courses, authentic lab/research experiences, and challenging personal biases.
